Stick in the Sand Apps
Up to 15s provides a fun way to memorize basic math facts from 0 to 15 and the squares and cubes from 0 to 15.
The player has several options including which operation, which number or numbers, and the “Up To” value (10, 12, or 15).
The game has five difficulty levels for the basic operations: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Genius.
The player earns three points for each math challenge completed correctly on the first try, two points for the second try, and one point for the third try. Any attempt to answer the challenge after that will earn zero points. Every math challenge has its own time that is displayed on the statistics screen along with the challenge itself.
Find Stick in the Sand App “Up to 15s” for Apple and for Android.
You can practice math facts anywhere with this convenient app! You can easily make adjustments to target exactly what you want to practice. Each child can track progress and try to earn more points each time. It’s a fun way to review!

Created by: Marshall and Tamara – Stick in the Sand Apps
Marshall and Tamara started Stick in the Sand Apps to create educational games that were helpful to the families of the Classical Conversations homeschool community that were as simple as a stick in the sand (or as close to it as possible). Marshall pastors a church bi-vocationally in East Texas and teaches as an adjunct professor for Kilgore College. Tamara has been homeschooling the children since their births. She has successfully graduated two who are students at Texas A&M University with their third having one more year before graduating. The fourth is entering his last year in Foundations/Essentials. They want their apps to be helpful to families regardless of their preferred method of education and to honor Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

EEL/IEW Checklists
I have put together 24 weeks of IEW/EEL checklists, which also include individualized math lesson and CC memory work. It covers the spelling at the back of the EEL, the IEW lesson, the EEL sentences to diagram for the week, and blanks to fill in additional information.
Nerd Music Playlist
I also put together a Nerd Music Playlist. Basically, what I mean by that is, I found songs on Youtube that corresponded with Foundations and Essentials lessons for Cycle 3 and put them into a list. I used a program called ClipGrab to turn them from youtube songs into MP3’s, and we listen to these songs in order to mentally prep for Cycle 3.
The EEL/IEW checklists are in the file section of the CC Essentials Parents facebook page.
The nerd music has the links for each youtube song attached to the file.
These checklists will keep you on track with the weekly Essentials work! You’ll need to be a member of the facebook group “CC Essentials Parents” in order to view these files. Request to join so you can benefit from these checklists and playlist! Mary has done an excellent job and continues to offer these to anyone free of charge!
