Reflections
At Christmas we celebrate the King whose kingdom has no end. His ruling and reigning bring peace. As the angels declared, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
Who pleases the Father? His Son.
And He is pleased to bring people into the kingdom of His Son. Not by righteous works that we have done, but by His mercy He saves us. Those under the rule of Christ have nothing to fear because Christ has taken the wrath of God upon himself, Christ has paid the costly price, and Christ has defeated death. He has gained for us peace with God. Christ is our Prince of Peace. Those in his kingdom have a place at His table and an eternal inheritance.
When life is uncertain, we rest in Christ who is in control.
When life is frightening, we trust in Christ who is greater than any foe.
When life is difficult, we depend on Christ who works in us.
We have peace in all circumstances because the Prince of Peace rules and reigns. His peace is not like the world’s peace. His peace will not come and go. It is steadfast. We can trust His peace because we can trust Him. He is our Prince of Peace!
