As we continue with week two of Advent, I’m reminded of the faithfulness of God to fulfill every promise and to keep every word. The Almighty did not withhold His love from us, the wayward children. He came down. He loved. He took on flesh.
All that we need is in Jesus.
If our sin entangles and our eyes waiver, let’s look to Jesus.
If our fears seem big and our faith seems small, let’s shelter in Jesus.
If obedience is slow, and selfishness is easy, let’s learn from Jesus.
And when we find our hearts do love Him, let’s worship Jesus.
Love Came Down at Christmas
Love came down at Christmas,
Christina G. Rossetti (1885)
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and angels gave the sign.
Worship we the Godhead,
Love incarnate, love divine;
Worship we our Jesus:
But wherewith for sacred sign?
Love shall be our token,
Love shall be yours and love be mine,
Love to God and to all men,
Love for plea and gift and sign.
